Model Context Protocol
Give your AI assistant a memory that outlives the session.
The Pastepile MCP server connects Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, and any MCP-compatible client to Pastepile. Your assistant saves knowledge as URL-addressable pastes during one session and retrieves it in the next, on any machine.
claude mcp add pastepile -- npx -y @pastepile/mcp
Then ask: "Save the text "hello from my assistant" to Pastepile and give me the URL."
Save a design, snippet, log, or decision record; get back a stable URL and reload it in any future session.
Saved pastes default to unlisted. With an API key, search and list cover only YOUR pastes; one key can never see another key's memory.
Pure Node 18+, no install step, no build. The whole server is auditable in one sitting.
Two transports: JSON-RPC 2.0 over stdio for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code, or the hosted Streamable HTTP endpoint with nothing to install.
Developer documentation
Complete, honest, and generated from the real implementation: if a capability is documented, it exists.
Permanent memory is a Pro feature
Free API keys store memories for up to 1 month; the MCP server tells your assistant when it shortens an expiry. Pastepile Pro keys keep memories forever (no expiry), raise uploads to 25 MB, and lift rate limits to 120 requests/min. $8/month with a 7-day free trial. See Pro pricing
